Wash Instructions

Turn your t-shirt inside out before washing. Machine wash with cold water. Hang to dry. For best results, do not put t-shirt in dryer.

When wrinkled, it is okay to use a steamer. Do not use an iron on or near the braille beadwork. Like most t-shirts, this fabric is likely to attract lint and hair. It is best practice to use a lint roller.

MEET THE MODEL

Chelsea Langerud

Chelsea is a visually impaired content creator, model, disability advocate, and writer in her twenties. She recently graduated from university with a bachelors in justice studies, minor in fashion, and a masters in disability studies.

At eighteen months old Chelsea received her first prosthetic eye and at nine years old, was diagnosed with Oculofaciocardiodental (OFCD). Today, she has limited vision in her left eye and wears a prosthetic in her right eye. She has a growing collection of "fun eyes" and for the Barbie x Aille photoshoot wore a beautiful prosthetic with a glittery light purple iris. Her love for fashion gives her the confidence to embrace who she is and defy the many stereotypes that exist about visual impairment.

What does this experience mean to you?

"The first feeling that crossed my mind was to look at a photo of me and feel beautiful right away and see myself in a different way, which is really rare for me. Even just to see the shirt saying this Barbie is inclusive, being able to see the name of a brand that I've looked up to for a long time and I've had a connection with for years ever since I was a little girl, as well as braille from a company that has meant so much to me throughout the years and that I've also been able to connect to and relate with is just, it felt really empowering."
